Growing Readers

At The READ Center, your child receives the attention and intervention they need to overcome reading difficulties. If your child has a professional diagnosis of dyslexia, a READ Act identification of a Significant Reading Deficiency, or a special education determination of a Specific Learning Disability in reading, we can help. If your child does not have a formally identified reading deficiency but you are concerned about his or her reading skills, The READ Center can help your child as well. We offer literacy and academic evaluations to help identify your child's strengths and areas of need.

What We Do

Learning to read opens new worlds to our children.  I offer literacy interventions tailored to each student's needs. If your child is having difficulties in reading, whether or not they are formally diagnosed with dyslexia or a learning disability/difference, I can help them grow to be a stronger reader. My services, commonly called "tutoring," differ significantly from traditional tutoring. My extensive education, training, and experience in the theory and practice of literacy remediation enable me to tailor a reading program for your child's specific reading challenges.  As a parent, you already know that literacy difficulties not only impact a student's academic life but their social and emotional well-being. My classroom is a safe and welcoming environment. I will help your child improve their literacy abilities and build confidence as well. Together, we can open a world of possibilities for your child.
